Agile development techniques can deliver projects far quicker than the traditional Waterfall approach—we’ve seen delivery times cut by over a third. However, this success hinges on good project management. When key processes such as strategy, design, technical analysis, and development are running in parallel, effective project management is what holds it all together.
Project management as a practice area
In keeping with our philosophy of maintaining balance across practice areas, we feel it’s essential to treat project management as a core discipline. It must run as an independent department (we embrace the concept of the PMO) and have a seat at the table with a voice equal to other delivery-oriented disciplines.
Durable PM for mixed development teams
Often we act as the project management resource for teams composed of both Durable and client developers—typically in the context of support. Effective project management across teams can't happen without best-practice use of tools like Jira and Confluence, coupled with a shared understanding of roles and responsibilities.
